CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP/SPONSORSHIP

Engineers from the Las Vegas Region have made the decision to support this 8th annual Future City competition. As volunteers, engineers will share skills such as teamwork, problem solving, communication, writing and applied math and science with students as they solve a real-world problem. Several opportunities have been identified for corporate involvement:

If your organization currently has relationships with middle schools, you are invited to introduce the Future City program to those schools. This program is designed to provide additional education and mentoring opportunities, reaching students who may not be involved with your initiative. Your organization can encourage team formation andeducation partnerships.

Promote employee involvement in the Future City program from within your organization using internal communication channels and volunteer recognition initiatives.

Your organization can provide expertise in media relations, public outreach, finance, competition planning or a variety of other functions necessary for a high quality program.

The $25,000 budget was developed to assure all interested student teams would have an opportunity to compete and be recognized for their efforts. We are asking your organizatoin to contribute a portion of the budget, either cash or in-kind, to demonstrate support for the Future City program.

The tremendous success the Las Vegas Regional Future City Competition has already experienced, is just one of the many testaments to the program's success on a national level. The National Engineers Week Future City Competition started with 5 major metropolitan regions in 1992. There are 37 regions sited for the 2006 competition. The continued growth of the Future City program is a strong indication that it is an educational program that works. Future City has certainly struck a chord with students, teachers and engineers. It has also had an immeasurable positive impact on the communities that support them.

Please review the sponsorship levels on the following table, any assistance your company can provide will be greatly appreciated. The Las Vegas Region will take great strides to publicly recognize your company's efforts.
